Why are Real Madrid called Los Blancos?
Real Madrid's 'Los Blancos' nickname comes from their iconic all-white kits — a colour that became a symbol of footballing royalty.
A Colour of Royalty
Real Madrid are known as Los Blancos — "the Whites" — and at Metaverse Football Club we find it one of football's most iconic nicknames. The name comes directly from the club's all-white home kit, worn since its founding in 1902.
The pristine white shirts became so tied to Real Madrid that "Los Blancos" needed no further explanation. The colour reflects elegance and ambition, fitting a club that has won more European Cups than any other.
More Than a Colour
Real Madrid are also called Los Merengues, after the meringue dessert their white shirts resemble, and Los Vikingos, a nickname from the 1970s. But Los Blancos remains the most enduring. At Metaverse Football Club, we love how a single colour can define a century of greatness.
From the Santiago Bernabéu to global dominance, Los Blancos stand for footballing royalty — a story Metaverse Football Club is proud to tell.
